What does it mean to be foodhappy?

Imagine a life where you feel comfortable around food all the time, in any given situation.

I’m talking about your day-to-day life: dinner parties, special gatherings, social events, holidays, restaurants, vacations, parties—you name it.

Imagine having the confidence to make food choices that will make you feel your best self, in any scenario, no matter what.

I’m talking physically: your digestion, energy, and strength.

I’m talking mentally: your focus, clarity, memory, and cognition.

I’m talking emotionally: your mood, self-confidence, and well-being.

Imagine eating foods that will help you maintain a healthy weight, balance your hormones, and support your long-term health and happiness all at the same time.

Imagine a life without physical pain or suffering where you are able to do the things you love, like spend time with your family, move, create, play, chase your passions, and fulfill your wildest dreams until the day you die.

Imagine a life like that.

That would be best case scenario, right?

Living life to the fullest without having to worry about your health gradually slipping away or some freak diagnosis showing up out of nowhere.

Well, it starts with food.

And I don’t mean fad diets or counting calories.

I’m talking about nutrient-dense whole foods.

It starts with learning what foods to eat to support optimal health for yourself, which could look different from the food that makes your siblings, friends, or partner thrive.

Figuring out what foods your body thrives on requires time and patience.

It requires trial and error.

It requires challenging your previous beliefs about food and being open-minded that the foods you may thrive on may or may not be what you originally thought.

It requires loving yourself enough to commit to this lifestyle, to commit to knowing where your food comes from and paying attention to how it makes you feel.

But it’s worth it.

Oh, man, is it worth it.

Food is more than energy. Food is information.

The food you put in your body is the building block for your cells, tissues, and organs. It imprints your DNA and can either turn on disease-fighting genes or disease-promoting genes.

Food is one of the most powerful drivers of health and disease.

Food is medicine.

So, what does it mean to be foodhappy? I’ll tell ya.

Being foodhappy means understanding and treating food as the precious life force that it is.

It means investing the time and energy it takes to cultivate a happy, healthy relationship with food.

It means educating ourselves about food and the nutrients in it that we need to thrive on a daily basis.

It means having the autonomy to make food choices that we know are best for our health in any given situation for the short term and the long term in a way that’s sustainable for us and the planet.

So, what do you say?

Are you ready to get happy about food again?

Let’s do it together!

In health,
Taylor
